About the Author

Stuart Wilson was born in Exmouth in the West of England. He came from a conventional background and went to a Scottish public school (Fettes in Edin-burgh). However his mother was fascinated by theosophy and the writings of Alice Bailey, and this led to Stuart's lifelong interest in esoteric teachings and the Eastern and Western wisdom traditions. After service in the RAF on Christmas Island in the Pacific, he entered advertising as an agency copywriter, rising over some years to become an advertising manager for an industrial company. He then retrained as a counselor and set up a small publishing business, which he later sold to concentrate on writing. He wrote two best-selling name dictionaries, including Simply the Best Baby Name Book, and moved in 1990 to help his friend Joanna Prentis with the development of the Starlight Centre in mid-Devon. He writes of this period: "It was inspiring and fascinating but also exhausting! A stream of visitors came in to the Centre, mainly from the United States and Australia, but some also from Europe. We had an amazing and mind-expanding time sitting at the feet of internationally respected spiritual teachers and workshop leaders. What I remember most about this time was the big gatherings when our friends came in to share a meal and talk about our experiences and all the changes that were happening in our lives. It was a wonderful time, full of joy and laughter, and the special events, like Anna Mitchell Hedges sharing her crystal skull, and the two fire-walks led by Esassani, were simply magical!" Joanna Prentis: I was born in Bangalore in southern India. When I was two my family returned to Scotland where I spent my childhood and teenage years. After leaving school I traveled exten-sively, married and lived in Hong Kong for two years and then ten years in the Australian bush in Western Australia, where my three daughters were born. It was there that my interest began in alternative medicine and education, organ

While reference to subjects like reincarnation, past life regression, and Atlantis might seem too strong a dose of woo-woo for people looking at Wilson and Prentis's The Essenes: Children of the Light for information on Jewish sects or just plain enlightenment, I recommend they soldier through such prejudices as this book provides both valid historical details and spiritual insights galore. How about this visual tidbit about a group, the Therapeutae, barely mentioned by Philo, the first-century philosopher, and Josephus, the Jewish historian (Page: 105): "The library at our community at Lake Mareotis near Alexandria was the finest I have seen - even bigger than Qumran. It was a large building with windows right along the south side. Outside there were awnings, so you could adjust the amount of light coming through each of the windows. And all along the south wall were tables for the scholars to sit at. It was a most practical place to study. The tables had deep half-rounded channels in them, so that the handles of the scroll were put down into these when one had unrolled it to the desired place."Or this spiritual gem that corrects a major human error in perception of the Divinity: (Page 325) What was unique about Jesus was the way he shifted the focus from “God in the Heavens to God in the Heart.”While the book may have aspects that might be best left behind, it has many more that readers will want to ponder and savor as they recast the Christ story into the larger history of humanity than most of us who heard it from childhood--and likely rejected as fairy tale or nonsense--have thus far conceived. Be ready to be surprised.

I cannot speak highly enough for my book! I loved it and I loved that these people didn't know one another yet thru regression it was found that the person doing the regressions was seeming to attract people who lived near one another in the Essene Community.. I loved it and cried and felt so joyful.. I flip thru pages occasionally just to get a good feeling sometimes. Magnificent!

With each paragraph and chapter, my feeling heart connected more deeply. As I read, so much felt familiar, like I already knew it, but only needed reminding.Anyone furthering their spiritual journey as believer in Jesus Christ should enjoy this book.... as long as it is read with an open mind and loving heart. Allow the veil to drop.

I like information like this which has come from the deeper layers of a person's mind like under hypnosis. The contents revealed to me a lot of new facts and scenarios, not only about Jesus's life and personality, but also about those contemporary associates and followers of the way. That such a group as the Kaloo existed, having come from the sinking lands of the west, Atlantis was profound. Who would have thought that Atlanteans were so instrumental in the beginnings of the new way expounded by Jesus. It was good to know that Jesus expressed and consented for each of us to develop from within, like it is taught in the Yogi Philosophy. The Christianity that is expressed and practised today is only a shadow of what Jesus really wanted to teach and spread. Together with "Jesus and The Essenes" and "They Walked With Jesus" by Dolores Cannon, I have tremendosly upgraded my knowledge and understanding of Jesus's mission, what he intended for us, who he was, who we are and where we should be going.

The insights are presented clearly and they are awesome. This is a book to reread, it is inspiring, and it reveals truth beyond what is traditionally available. The information pulls together, corrects, and completes the meaning and context of faith, how to live well, and the promise of unconditional love.

Some time ago I was introduced to some of the history of the Essenes by obtaining and reading Dolores Cannon's book "Jesus and the Essenes".But I found "The Essenes: Children of the Light" revealing a great deal more most interesing historical information, which gave me a much deeper understanding of the Essene religeous and spiritual movement and the leading/teaching role of Jesus within this movement. As we find in the conclusion of the book (page 339):"It was in the communities of the Essene Brotherhood that the Way was first taught, and perhaps in that setting it was most fully understood. The Essenes did not try to elaborate the teachings of Jesus into any kind of ceremonial or doctrinal structure. The simple and profound fellowship of lives lived close to Mother Earth had taught them them the power and beauty of simplicity"The book confirmed to me that Jesus had no intention to start a new religeous movement. His teaching was purely aimed at the spiritual development of those people, who were receptive to benefit from it.

This book was amazing! Wait! Let me say that again! This book was amazing! It was what I have been feeling this whole time. This is what I believed! From the time I was a child, my mother and father told me, "you don't have to go to church to believe in God." They were right! You don't! It's in your heart! Jesus was a beautiful man who was enlightened to say the least. Instead of worshipping him, worship his teachings instead! This is what we should be doing! His image is just that, a mere man who was sent to bring up human development and teach love and forgiveness! But we already know this! This is our foundation! This book has finally given me something to believe in! This book gives me something to share with my own child, love, kindness, patience, forgiveness. Well done and worth the read! On to the next book Mary Magdalene!

A wonderful book. It helped me to understand so much more about the culture and the events during the time of Jesus. .
